WHVN was
Charlotte's first full-time Christian radio
station, debuting on August 1st, 1971. This
August 1st ('09) marked Heaven Radio's 38th year
as Charlotte's "Pioneer Voice of The Gospel".
After 38-years of airing
quality Christian teaching programs at 1240 on
the AM dial, WHVN recently
added a place on the FM band! You may now hear
WHVN at 1240 AM … and at 104.3
FM!!
I’ve served as
WHVN General Manager for 36 years. A
perk of my job is hearing testimonies from
listeners who phone to say that “while listening
to (speaker) on WHVN I pulled
my car to the side of the road and invited
Christ into my heart as personal Lord and
Savior”. It reminds me that these Christian
radio stations I’m privileged to manage are
important, timely and relevant ministries in
Charlotte, North Carolina! Thousands will listen
to radio before they begin attending church.
Once they accept Christ and mature in the Word
most choose to affiliate with fellow believers
in church membership.
A glance at
our program schedule
reflects the that fact that we're discerning
about what we air. We feature only sound local,
regional and nationally known Christian
teachers.
I thank God for letting me
be part of a ministry which reaches people where
they live and work. A ministry which takes God’s
word beyond four walls to the broader Charlotte
community. Thank God for the tool of Christian
radio!
